Cheddar Cheese

Cheddar Cheese

Saturday 26th August 2006

Whilst there's nothing to challenge the likes of Keen's, Quicke's and Montgomery Cheddar, these are only found in specialist shops, and unless you're rich, they may be too expensive for everyday eating. A recent review of widely-available 'packet' Cheddars put Gould's (available at M & S and the Co-Op) and Pilgrims Choice (Somerfield & Budgens) equal top. Both are proper farmhouse cheeses - and are affordable. Westcombe's Unpasteurised (Waitrose & Booths) came a close second.
