Organic Farming at Record Low

Organic Farming at Record Low

Tuesday 18th June 2013

It's a sad sign of these hard times we live in, that British farmers have heavily-reduced the amount of land they use to grow organic crops and livestock. Customers, it seems, are not wlling to pay the premium price asked.

The study, carried out by Defra, showed that the total quantity of land, in organic use, fell to 605,329 hectares last year, a fifth less than its peak in 2008.
