Mintel Research shows general supplier mistrust

Wednesday 10th July 2013

A survey, conducted in the UK over the Spring of 2013, has concluded that a large percentage f the British public distrust the food supply chain.

42% of those interviewed believe that after the disclosures of The Horse Meat Scandal, the food industry is unable to effectively regulate itself, and doesn't know the precise provenance of its ingredients.

Indeed, trusted Provenance is now many of the public's most important concern – and that this should be more forthcoming on food labels.

43% of those asked, believed that stating that food had 'no artificial ingredients' was also important to them.
