Chuck Wagon

A form of mobile kitchen devised by Charles Goodnight (who also bred Cattalo cattle). He converted army wagons in the 1850"s to keep cowhands fed with stew and biscuits. Goodnight himself preferred buffalo meat, and kept a wild herd until the day he died.

Chuck was the colloquial term for the food cowboys ate. See 'Cattalo'
