Cooper, Peter

The American inventor of the first "short-cut" dessert in the 1840"s. He mixed gelatine with sugar and artificial fruit flavours, fifty years before "Jell-O" achieved widespread success.

He is more famously remembered as the inventor of the "Tom Thumb" locomotive. See 'Jell-O'
