Spider Crab (maia squinado)

An excellent crab, with a small body, but plenty of hard to extract meat in the long legs. Delicious flesh; but most crabs of this type caught in our waters go to France where they are much in demand. See "Crab, blue"; "Crab, horseshoe"; "Crab, jonah"; "Crab, rock"; "Crab, shore"; "Crab, green"; "Crab, hermit"; "Crab, oyster"; "Crab, pea"; "Crab, red"; "Crab, southern stone"; "Crab, soft-shell": "Start Bay"; 'Traditional Events"

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
