Cyclamate

An artificial sweetener, now prohibited, as it had links to bladder cancer when consumed in extremes. The test rats developed this cancer when ingesting what amounted, in proportion to their size, fifty times the amount of cyclamates recommended for humans. An adult would have had to consume 388 individual drinks, or a child 133 per day to achieve that level.
