Demerara sugar

A type of sugar that used to come from the county in Guyana, where it was made from 98% cane sucrose and 2% molasses, but is now more often made by adding molasses to white sugar (so by unrefined sugar for a better-tasting natural product) - so can be beet or cane sugar. See 'Sugar'
