Eggs Benedict

A popular brunch dish, comprising poached egg(s), a slice of ham and hollandaise sauce on an English muffin. The dish is probably named after Lemuel Benedict, an American financier, who was known to eat a similar dish at The Waldorf Hotel in New York during the 1890's. See 'Brunch'
