A cheese term which used to mean made on the farm. This doesn't always have quite the same meaning, as some 'farmhouses' are more like factories 'importing and mixing milk from outside farms. Blends like this lack the unique flavours of cheese made from a single farm from animals grazing on just that farm's pasture.
