Symptoms among those sensitive to the foodstuffs include migraine, eczema, lethargy, depression and irritable bowel syndrome.
The findings by an independent nutritional laboratory, which tested the foods" sensitivity of thousands of patients, surprised doctors and nutritionists.
In tests on 93 common foods, it found that 8 of the twenty five to which people most often reacted were fruit, vegetable or pulses.
Evidently, the foods themselves don"t cause the symptoms but, rather, trigger an adverse reaction in people with a disposition to those symptoms. Thus, a person predisposed to migraine will suffer bad headaches if they eat the food to wich they are sensitive.
It might seem strange that an innocent lettuce could cause any adverse symptoms, but any food just needs a certain molecule in it, and your body might not like it.
Some products have come on the market, including one marketed by "The York Nutritional Laboratory" that allow you to test yourself easily at home. See 'Food, Causing Least Sensitivity'
