Halal/Hallal

Meat killed in a lawful way to those of the Muslim religion. The basic premise is that animals for human consumption must be killed facing Mecca, with one clean cut to the throat - while they are conscious. They must then be drained of their blood. The opposite of halal is haram/haraam. See "Haram/Haraam"; "Muslim food".
