A crustacean with no shell of its own, but that occupies the shell of escargot de mer (any single-shell gastropoda; such as a limpet , murex or whelk). Their flesh isn"t highly regarded but can be cooked like a shrimp, grilled or baked. See 'Gastropoda'

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
