A medieval drink based on the French and Saxon drink of piment. It consisted of red wine, heavily sweetened with honey and flavoured with herbs and spices (such as ginger and cinnamon - poorer people would use pepper). It was consumed as an after dinner drink. See 'Clary'; 'Piment'
