Maris Piper

A 2nd Early 'floury' potato variety, raised by the Plant Breeding Institute at Trumpington, Cambridge. Maris Piper's are good for baking and roasting, but their claim to fame is that of the best potato variety for making chips. This is partly due to the fact that they absorb little oil.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
