Lamb"s leaves/lettuce (valerianella eriocarpa)

A variety of valeriana, called M√Ęche in France and sometimes corn salad (particularly in the U.S.A). It looks attractive, but only has a mild flavour; however, it"s a welcome addition to the salad bowl when it matures in the autumn, and lasts through the winter months. It may also be cooked like spinach.
