Ling (molva molva)
A fish of the gadidae family - sometimes known as common ling - so related to cod, haddock hake and whiting. Ling is a long thin fish, sometimes reaching a length of nearly 2 metres, along 1 metre is more common. The dorsal fins runs for three-quarters of the length of the fishes body.
Ling has traditionally been a popular for drying, particularly on the west coast of Ireland, Cornwall and the Scilly Isles. It found, the flesh is good - so treat like cod or haddock.
