Although related to melon, water melon is also related to citrus fruits. It has a green lined rind, and a red watery, but heavily-seeded interior. It"s very popular in hot countries because of its refreshing, thirst-quenching, juicy flesh. Fruits can weigh anything from 2.5-4.5 kilos. Some newer hybrids have been bred to be almost seedless.
