Melon, To choose a ripe one when shopping

Merely smell it - if it is ripe it will have a strong melon bouquet. If then keeping it in a fridge, keep it loosely-wrapped in a plastic bag, otherwise the "smell" from your ripe melon will flavour everything else in the fridge. See 'Melon'

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
