Mirabelle de Lorraine

The Appellation d'Origine of an eau-de-vie distilled from the mirabelle plum in the area around Metz and Nancy in Eastern France. It's made in a similar fashion to Cognac, and aged in oak casks. For the very best, seek out 'Mirabelle Fine du Val de Metz'. See 'Mirabelle', 'Appellation d'Origine Controlee'
