Muffet; Dr Thomas

(1533-1604) the writer of one of the first books connecting food with health. His daughter, Patience, is thought to be the "Little Miss Muffet" of the nursery rhyme - who ate both her curds and whey. He was also an entomologist with a passion for spiders, which his daughter quite possibly hated and feared.
