Ormer (Haliotis tuberculata)

A shellfish (resembling a clam) and related to the abalone, similar to octopus in flavour and texture.

The only place Omer"s are officially found in Britain is in the Channel Islands, and they can be harvested during low tides between January and April. For more information on this contact the Guernsey tourist office on 01481-723552. See 'Abalone'
