A traditional West Indian meat stew flavoured with cassereep (a juice obtained from cassava) - and highly spiced with crushed peppercorns. In Britain, a version of Pepperpot is made with vegetables, while in 19th Philadelphia, sea turtle or tripe were incorporated.
