Popcorn, To make

Cover the bottom of a heavy saucepan with thin layer of oil, (butter burns too easily), and add a single layer of popcorn. Cover and shake gently over a high flame until you hear one grain pop. Remove from the flame, and continue shaking for another minute. Then put them back on the flame, and shake very vigorously until the popping stops. Turn into a bowl, and for plain popcorn simply add butter and salt.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
