Red Cabbage

A purple variety of cabbage, classified as the Rubra group. In Britain they are traditionally grown as an autumn vegetable; their flavour combining well with the robust flavours of vinegar, red wine and spices. When braised, they make a good accompaniment to game and winter stews. See our Recipe Section.
