Rockling (Gaidrpsarus vulgaris)

A member of the Gadidae family, so related to cod and haddock - but not in the same culinary league. It occurs on both sides of the North Atlantic. It should be treated as whiting, perhaps baked, poached or used for a fish pie.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
