St. John's Wort (Hypericum Perforatum)

A yellow-flowered herb, which is both cultivated and found wild in the UK and Europe. One explanation for its name is that its flowers are most abundant around 24th June, the birthday of John the Baptist.

Studies show that extracts can ease the symptoms of anxiety and depression, boost energy levels and relieve PMS symptoms; but benefits may take from four to six weeks to materialise.
