Saw Palmetto (Serenoa Serrulata)

A small palm tree that grows wild in the Atlantic coastal regions of North America, it's also known as 'dwarf palm'. It was traditionally-used as a food by the south-eastern American Indians, but has recently become prominent as certain chemicals in its berries have been found to be a successful treatment for enlarged prostate in men.

Extracts are available from health food shops, generally sold under the name 'Palmetto'. See 'Alternative Medicines'
