Sea Fish Industry Authority
An authority devoted to improving and promoting the fishing industry. They have an interesting Web site www.seafish.co.uk listing their annual awards for the best Fish and Chip shops, restaurants serving fish etc, and it also provides useful links to other sites on Aquaculture and Nutrition. They publish an excellent little book 'Tip Top Fish & Chip Shops' - available at good newsagents.
They run half-day courses to instruct 'members of the trade' on the Torry system - which in its most basic form is the benchmark on the freshness of fish - a banner that's been taken up by some supermarkets. For more information on these contact 01482-327 837 or Email firstname.lastname@example.org
