Blue Flag (Iris Versicolor)

Also known as 'Wild Iris' and 'Flag lily'. This plant is native to American swamps, but now commonly grown in British gardens.

Infusions made with the root are diuretic - so used to treat oedema (water retention) and can be used as a tonic, to assist with purifying the blood, expelling intestinal worms and the relief of vaginal infections. It is also said to help migriane sufferers. It's available from larger herbalists. See Blue Flag Warning.
