Sweet corn (Zea Mays Saccharata)

Is a recent, more refined, variety of maize that has been developed in the 1920"s, in which not all the sugar is turned to starch. As well as being known to us as "corn on the cob". It has a sweet nutty flavour. See 'Hush puppies'; 'Maize'; 'Maize grain'; 'Maize meal'; 'Popcorn'
