Swordfish (Xiphias Gladius)

A very large fish with a Sword-like snout attachment. It has been known to grow up to 5 metres in length, but 2 to 3 metres is more normal.

The flesh is firm and white, and is excellent cut into steaks, in the manner of tuna.

Unfortunately, Populations in all major oceans have seriously diminished since 1980, through over-fishing. North Atlantic stock in particular is classed as "vulnerable".
