Tea and Health

Recent research has shown that black tea acts as an anti-carcinogen (the fat in milk is meant to nullify this effect). Contrary to popular belief, tea is high in caffeine; about 80-140 mg per 6oz cup depending on strength, this is about 60% of the levels found in coffee. The U.K consumes nearly 150,000 tons of tea a year; 68% of the population enjoying a cup of tea at least once a day; 90% of the tea used is in tea bag form. When packaged in this manner, a pound of tea can produce about 300 cups (whereas a similar weight of coffee only produces 30-40 cups)
