Traditional Events; St. Wilfrid Procession

In a tradition dating back to the Middle Ages, apples and cheese tarts are taken on a procession through the town of Ripon in North Yorkshire - this happens on the Saturday before the first Monday in August.

Village carols: various locations have traditional carol services in South Yorkshire, between mid-November. Traditional carols are sung in pubs, including The Travellers Rest, Oughtibridge and the Black Bull, Ecclesfield.
