Vitamin B15 (Pangamic Acid)

This is also known as vitamin B15, and for years was controversial in the West, as it was used to boost the performance of athletes from the former Eastern Block.

Being a lipotropic substance, it lowers cholesterol levels and prevents fat accumulation in the liver.

Its best natural sources are found in brewer's yeast, brown rice, pumpkin, sesame seeds and whole grains.

There's no Recommended Daily Allowance, but a intake of 25-100mg is normal. It's sometimes available as a supplement labelled 'Calcium Pangamate'.
