A large vicious "game" sea-fish. It grows up to 2 metres in the Indian and Pacific Oceans - but this variety can cause 'cigatuera' poisoning if ate by humans.

Smaller Caribbean and Mediterranean species are free of this risk and steaks from these fish are good fried or barbecued.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards.
