Beeton, Isabella

(1836-1865) The author of 'Beeton's Book of Household Management' - the most famous cookery book in the English language, of the 19th century.

If searching out the book, it's important to buy an early facsimile (from the 1861 edition), as most modern versions are heavily bastardised, some containing no original recipes of the author at all.

Mrs Beeton died tragically young, just after having her forth child.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards.
