Christianity and food

Christianity has no forbidden foods, apart from the obvious cannibalism.

However, during the period of Lent - the period of 40 days from Ash Wednesday to Easter Eve - strict Christian's fast, possible foregoing the consumption of meat - replacing it with fish.
