Farm Fresh

At the moment, a totally meaningless term. Battery eggs, being a good example of this empty phrase.

Eggs from caged hens are often offered for sale using this term; while a recent national poll commissioned by 'Compassion in World Farming' (CIWF) found that 37% of the British public believed eggs labelled 'Farm Fresh' to have been laid by free range hens. CIWF therefore believes that the term is so misleading, and in the case of eggs - that they should be labelled 'Eggs from Caged Hens'.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
