Heinz, Henry J

(1844-1919) Born in Pennsylvania, and from German ancestry, after initial financial problems, launched his '57' products (although even then, he had 60). He was ahead of his time, believing (even in 1888) that well processed food didn't need preservatives or colourings.

He was so successful, that he became one of the famous 'five Pittsburg millionaires'.
