Tree Onion (Allium Cepa)

A bush-like plant (growing up to 150cm/5 feet in height) that produces underground bulbs, similar to small onions. Once the greenish-white flowers die back, bulbs are produced in the air, where they have been. They are often pickled.

Tree onions are also known as 'Egyptian onions' or 'Lazy Man's Onions'.
