Cobb Salad

An American salad consisting of chicken or turkey with bacon. It generally also includes avocado, cheese, hard-boiled egg, cos lettuce, sliced tomatoes and vinaigrette. It was supposedly invented by Bob Cobb, when he was proprietor of 'The Brown Derby'. He was hungry one night, so raided the fridge and put the combination together - it was so good he put it on the menu.
