Curworthy Cheese Dairy

A dairy, run by Rachel Stephens, producing excellent pasteurised cheeses, naturally-made using milk from the farms Friesian herd - near Okehampton.

Curworthy, a semi-hard cheese - with a light buttery taste, is the dairy's backbone. With variations having such as 'Meldon' having the addition of whole-grain mustard & Chiltern ale added.

'Chipple' has spring onions and 'Devon Smoake' is smoked over oak chippings.

In 2011, 'Haytor' was introduced - this is a 'cooked' cheese, based on Gruyere methods. It has a nutty flavour and attractive broken texture. For more information see (
