Talleyrand, Charles Maurice de Talletrand-Périgord (1754-1838)

A French man of incredible talents, being at various stages of his career Bishop of Autun (1789-91); his countries foreign minister under the Directory (1797-99) and again under Napoleon (1799-1807); by his skills he managed to survived all these changes and represent France at the Congress of Vienna (1814-15).

For our interests he was one of the greatest gourmets of his time.

If you enjoy cooking take a minute to look at ‘Simon Scrutton French Cookery Classes’ on Google – and learn how to make top class bistro-style dishes. Suitable for beginners upwards. Small classes.
