Along with St. Martha, the patron saint of cooks. He is thought to have been born in 1381, as a member of the noble Giustiniani family, and died when Bishop of Venice in 1456. He was noted for sharing all the food and money he could raise amongst the poor, while leading a life of simplicity and poverty himself.
