St. Amand

The patron saint of bar tenders, brewers, hoteliers and wine makers. He was born in Poitou, France - probably in 584, and died in Elnone in 679. When Bishop of Maestricht, he was given a commission to wander and preach. His association with brewers and vintners comes from spending so much time in beer and wine- making regions. Feast day 6th February (was previously 1st February).
