Meaning 'buttered' in Italian. Burrata is a cheese comprised of a shell of Mozzarella which holds a centre of a blend of Mozzarella and cream.

When introduced during the 1920's cheeses were wrapped in asphodel leaves - but now, it's more usual to find them packaged in plastic.
