Dragon Fruit/Pitahaya (Hylocereus Triangularis)
A form of jungle cactus, which is now cultivated and becoming a familiar sight in larger supermarkets and good greengrocers. Once opened, there's a great mass of white flesh (the colour depends on the variety, as there are many), and small edible black seeds. The flesh, which has a flavour not unlike a melon, is best scooped out and used in fruit salads and suchlike.
