Kifir

A yoghurt type drink, made of milk, originating in the Caucasus mountains of Turkey. Because the culture is live, it is attributed with similar health benefits to that of yoghurt. Legend has it that it was originally matured in the leather saddle bags of the nomadic tribes living in the region.
