Butlers Lancashire Cheeses

Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses make several Lancashire cheeses, all based on a 1932 family recipe – all handmade at their Inglewhite Dairy.

In ascending order these are 'Butlers Crumbly Lancashire' – matured for up to 6 weeks; 'Butlers Creamy Lancashire' – cloth bound and matured for around 3 months (see photograph); and 'Butlers Tasty Lancashire' – cloth bound, then matured for up to 12 months.

You might find these at cheese shops and supermarkets, but take care which one you are buying.

They also make a flagship 'Trotter Hill' Lancashire (see separate entry).
