Butlers Lancashire Cheeses
Butlers Farmhouse Cheeses make several Lancashire cheeses, all based on a 1932 family recipe all handmade at their Inglewhite Dairy.
In ascending order these are 'Butlers Crumbly Lancashire' matured for up to 6 weeks; 'Butlers Creamy Lancashire' cloth bound and matured for around 3 months (see photograph); and 'Butlers Tasty Lancashire' cloth bound, then matured for up to 12 months.
You might find these at cheese shops and supermarkets, but take care which one you are buying.
They also make a flagship 'Trotter Hill' Lancashire (see separate entry).
